Sound Inspiration Outfits One Church In Ohio With VUE Audiotechnik Arrays & Subwoofers

Sound Inspiration (Groveport, OH) recently designed and implemented a new reinforcement system incorporating VUE Audiotechnik al-Class and e-Class loudspeakers to serve the sanctuary at One Church in Gahanna OH to support loud, uplifting services that includes a full praise and worship band.

The original system was comprised of used trap-shaped boxes and 18-inch subwoofers that was aging, supplying poor coverage, harshness and less-than-desired low-frequency impact. The church had expressed a preference for a different loudspeaker but decided to go with VUE instead after hearing an al-8 demonstration at another Sound Inspiration installation.

Working closely with One Church technical director Austin Harman, Sound Inspiration’s Matt Price and Dave Lowery designed a system with 16 al-8 acoustic linearity line array elements (eight per-side), with six center flown al-8SB subwoofers and an additional six as-418 isobaric subs floor stacked across the stage. Due to the width of the room, three a-10 loudspeakers were flown to serve as center fill and out fill, and six e-352 Nano compact loudspeakers were installed as front fills.

“As an integrator, we love working with VUE Audio when designing solutions for our clients,” Price says. “The coverage, clarity and accuracy is unbeatable in every product they make. This was the first time we chose to provide the e-Class Nano series as front fills and, while I was hesitant due to their size, VUE’s Jon Garner assured me these would keep up. He was right. These little speakers defy the laws of physics – I’ve never heard a speaker this size keep up with a line array in output.

“In addition,” he continues, “the e-352 Nanos took no time at all to integrate with the main system – no corrective EQ, just time align, level match and go. The customer experience at VUE is top notch and despite a strict timeline, we were able to complete this installation in time for the holidays and the client was ecstatic with the results.”

Church tech director Harman concludes, “The unparalleled consistency of the VUE al-8 line array, installed by Sound Inspiration has exponentially improved our ability to execute our vision of producing excellent, big sounding mixes. The first time we turned on the stereo, our jaws literally dropped. We certainly made the right decision.”
