Sound Devices Debuting New 833 Portable Mixer-Recorder At Upcoming IBC Show

Sound Devices is introducing the new 833 portable, compact mixer-recorder at this year’s International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) that kicks off September 13 in Amsterdam (hall 8, booth A32).

The 833 is equipped with six mic/line preamplifiers, eight channels, 12 tracks, six analog outputs, and accurate timecode. Many features have carried over from the company’s’ Scorpio portable mixer-recorder, including a new preamplifier design, two SD card slots, dual L-Mount charging and powering, and an internal 256 GB SSD. The 833 features Dugan Automixing for up to eight channels.

Sound Devices will also have other new products on hand at IBC, including the second generation MixPre Series — the MixPre II Series. It offers 32-bit float recording, internal timecode generation, sample rates of up to 192 kHz, and 142 dB of dynamic range.

Also at the show will be the Scorpio with 16 mic/line preamplifiers, 32 channels, 36 tracks, 32 channels of Dante, and 16 channels of Dugan Automixing. In addition, Sound Devices has recently partnered with Sony to add SuperSlot compatibility to the new Sony DWR-S03D digital wireless receiver. The DWR-S03D joins other RF receivers from Audio Limited, Wisycom, Sennheiser and Lectrosonics in implementing SuperSlot compatibility.
