Provides New Possibilities for On Location Sound Recording

A new, free v1.10 firmware upgrade for the Sony DWR-S03D slot-in receiver, part of the DWX Series of wireless systems, includes direct frequency input function and digital or analog audio output settings when the DWA-SLAU1 adaptor is attached, meaning that existing owners of the DWX Series can expand the use of their equipment for new applications.

Working in collaboration with Sound Devices and AATON Digital, the firmware update of the DWR-S03D receiver and their mixer-recorders enables the direct audio transmission between both devices, as well as scan and setting frequencies of the receiver from their mixer-recorder.

The DWX Series provides a choice of codec modes depending on the application, providing stated low latency and high-quality sound, with a choice of transmitter options that include a rechargeable micro belt pack, interchangeable head handheld microphone and 48-volt phantom power plug-on. It’s also possible to monitor the status of the wireless system and control the receiver from the mixer as well as control the transmitter from the receiver via Sony’s Cross Remote link.
