In the 40th Episode of Signal To Noise, which launched just last October, the hosts are joined by Chris Robold, who is currently the FOH engineer for Bruno Mars. He talks about the gear he’s using, console workflow, and the all-around approach to mixing a dynamic fun show. Bruno Mars is very involved with all aspects of his show, including how it sounds. with Chris explaining how he manages the artist relationship to deliver what Bruno wants.

Also covered is some of Chris’ previous work with artists that include Widespread Panic, Kenny Chesney, Lady Gaga and more. Many of these acts tour stadiums, which can be drastically different than typical arenas, with Chris explaining how this impacts his approach to the mix.

One other note: veteran mix engineer (and recent STN guest) Ken “Pooch” Van Druten and Chris have kicked off a YouTube Series where they share a range of audio tips and tricks. Check it out!
