Shure annually celebrates its SM58 dynamic vocal microphone on May 8, and this year the company is inviting anyone interested to join a free livestream event on its YouTube page (here) with special guests Henry Rollins (Black Flag, Rollins Band) as well as Jon Loeser and Stuart Delk (Rascal Flatts sound engineers). The event begins at 4 pm U.S. Eastern time (3 pm Central) today.
Leading up to the online event, Shure invites entries to a custom SM58 giveaway as well as to participate in regional online engagements/performances and in various social media giveaways.

The Shure SM line was first developed in the 1960s, and was aimed at the TV studio market. Rock ‘n’ roll sound engineers discovered the SM58 in the late sixties, and it soon became famous for onstage performance.
