Session highlights have been announced for the upcomming 2022 New World Rigging Symposium (NWRS), slated to take place online April 5-7, 2022, including “Rope 201,” a follow-up to a popular presentation at 2021 NWRS. (Registration is here.)

“Rope 201” will be presented by experienced professionals Stu Cox, Eric Rouse and Andy Schmitz, who will dive deep into the intended uses, benefits and drawbacks of ropes, lines, and ties. Meanwhile, a “Rope Access” session will explore rope access use in the entertainment industry and how it can be employed in the field to solve problems.

Another session will focus on the challenges of loading production into a university theatre versus backing up trucks to a commercially operated roadhouse. A panel of university venue managers will focus on the unique challenges that include staff and leadership experience, red tape and paperwork, availability of skilled labor and more.
