At the AES Fall 2020 Convention currently ongoing as an online event, Sanken Microphones is introducing the new CUX-100K microphone, based on the company’s omnidirectional CO-100K but offering selectable cardioid far, cardioid near, and omni polar patterns.
The CUX-100K is designed to handle a variety of high-resolution (100 kHz), high-sample-rate recording applications, both in spacial or close miking applications. Suggested uses include ensemble, solo, vocals and orchestral mic arrays, plus specialized uses such as Foley, location sound effect recording, and acoustic instruments.
The new CUX-100K is designed to take advantage of the heightened frequency response of new high-resolution digital audio formats. In X-Y, ORTF, and Decca tree overheads, it is stated to excel in capturing the spatial reality of specialized acoustic spaces.
U.S. MSRP is $3,400. Go here to visit Sanken at AES 2020, and here to learn more about the Chromatic line of microphones.
