RØDE Microphones Extend MicCon Compatibility

RØDE has also announced an additional PinMic.

RØDE Microphones has announced the release of three new MiCon connectors to add additional compatibility with its line of compact wearable microphones that include the RØDE Lavalier, HS-1 headset and the innovative RØDE PinMic.

The MiCon-6 adaptor provides connectivity with selected AKG systems including the PT40, PT60, PT61, PT80, PT81, PT400, PT2000 and PT4000.

The MiCon-7 adaptor provides connectivity with selected Lectrosonics systems including the SM, UMa and LMa Series, as well as the UM450. The MiCon-8 adaptor provides connectivity for the Sony UWP series of wireless transmitters.

Released in late 2010, the original five MiCon adaptors allow for connectivity with both 3.5mm stereo and XLR as well as selected wireless systems from manufacturers including Shure, Sennheiser and Audio Technica.

For a full list of compatibility and to find the right MiCon for your needs, simply visit the MicCon website.

RØDE has also announced an additional PinMic with longer pins to allow for use with heavier clothing and fabric.

Both PinMics offer a unique and innovative take on the traditional lapel microphone. While lapel microphones are the industry standard for close-miking presenters and talent, depending on the application their presence on a collar or lapel can be distracting or entirely undesirable.

The PinMic features a detachable capsule head that mounts onto three pins on the microphone backplate, providing a discreet alternative that can be located almost anywhere on a wide range of clothing and fabrics.

The RØDE Lavalier, HS-1 (black/pink), PinMic, entire suite of MiCon adaptors, cables are shipping now and will be available shortly from all authorized RØDE retailers.
