Renkus-Heinz Announces New ICONYX Steerable Arrays

IC8-HD, IC Live X, and IC Live XL all designed to deliver higher SPL than the current ICLive units

Renkus-Heinz has expanded its family of ICONYX-series digitally steerable column arrays with introduction of the new IC8-HD, IC Live X, and IC Live XL, all designed to deliver higher SPL than the current ICLive units. In addition, the new IC8-HD is stated to be the company’s highest-definition array to date.

As with other ICONYX-series arrays, the new models deliver digital beam-steering technology that aims the sound at the audience and away from walls and ceilings.

The new IC8-HD utilizes 32 discrete amplifier/DSP channels to control its 24 high-frequency drivers and eight 4-inch low-mid woofers. It’s compatible with all ICONYX Gen5 modules.

The new ICLive X has individually controlled and amplified dual 8-inch woofers and six 1-inch high-frequency compression drivers. The compact cabinet can be mounted on a tripod stand, pole-mounted above a subwoofer, or installed in tall, continuous arrays. Presets allow for point-source use, with software-adjustable vertical coverage angles.

A system can be equipped to deliver enhanced low-mid directivity and sound pressure level with the addition of the new IC Live XL, which employs four 8-inch woofers. The IC Live X and IC Live XL can be combined for enhanced scalability and flexibility.

The IC Live X can be mounted above, below, or between the IC Live XLs to best meet the needs of the given application.

The new ICONYX-series arrays can be seen at the Renkus-Heinz booth (7- V192) at the ISE show in Amsterdam.
