RCF Unveils New TT+ Series Active Loudspeaker & Subwoofer

RCF has announced the introduction of the new TT 515-A active full-range loudspeaker and TT 808-AS active subwoofer, both incorporating the company’s TT+ Series technologies in designs specifically for portable and installed applications where size and weight are key factors.

The TT 515-A can be utilized in main, supplemental and immersive situations, pairing dual symmetrical custom-loaded 5-inch cone drivers with a rotatable CMD waveguide surrounding a titanium 1.75-inch high-frequency driver, with all components driven by a two-channel class D amplifier stated to supply up to 1,000 watts (RMS). Stated maximum SPL is 127 dB. Multiple rigging accessories support flying as well as pole-, truss-, wall- and ceiling-mounting in both horizontal and vertical orientations.

The TT 808-AS incorporates two 8-inch woofers with vented frontal loading that’s also powered by a two-channel class D amplifier providing up to 1,000 watts. The compact cabinet can be used in both horizontal and vertical orientations as well as paired for cardioid, arc, and other complex configurations utilizing the company’s RDNet networked management. Also included are balancing brackets for improved vertical stability. Both new models have a rotatable logo.

The onboard DSP includes a high-level circuit with proprietary Bass Motion Control (BMC) and FiRPHASE processing that are designed to help achieve coherent distribution of sound without phase distortion and deeper, tighter bass. BMC helps to extend the lowest audible frequency without affecting stability of the transducers stability while limiting over-excursion. FiRPHASE enhances dynamics amplitude and time behavior for an optimized linear phase response.

The sturdy, rigid and waterproof cabinet is built of baltic birch plywood coated with black, scratch-resistant polyurea paint. The amplifier is mounted to a solid machined aluminum structure at the back, where heat dissipation is faster and more efficient. A powder-coated metal grille protects the transducers, and an acoustically transparent sound foam backing on the inside of the grille provides added protection from dust and humidity.
