Rational Acoustics Relocates And Expands US Headquarters

New facility in Woodstock, CT, houses administration, sales, product development, warehouse operations and in-house Smaart training center.

Rational Acoustics, developers of Smaart acoustic test and measurement software platform, announces the relocation and expansion of its US headquarters.

The new HQ, located at 32 Crabtree Lane in Woodstock, CT, houses Rational’s administration, sales, product development and warehouse operations as well as a new in-house Smaart training center. At 5,700 square feet, the new building is nearly three times larger than Rational’s previous offices and will accommodate the company’s continuing growth in personnel, sales and training.

“This is an incredibly exciting time for Rational,” comments Karen Anderson, Rational Acoustics’ CEO & co-founder. “Over the past 10 years we have grown from a little 4-person startup to a company of 11 people. We have more than doubled our personnel, tripled the number of Smaart classes we hold each year and quadrupled our sales. Our original offices served us well, but we have simply outgrown them. We needed to find a space that would accommodate our vision for the future of Rational Acoustics.”

One of the primary features of the new building is the addition of an 1,100 square foot Smaart training center. This facility will host a variety of Smaart classes throughout the year, including the standard 3-day Smaart Operator Fundamentals class, as well as some new, shorter advanced/special topic seminars which will be introduced in the coming months. With over 2 acres of land surrounding the building, attendees will be able to gain hands-on experience utilizing Smaart with larger systems and in both indoor and outdoor situations (weather permitting…it is New England after all).

“Relocating is bittersweet,” says Anderson. “We made some great memories (and software) in our old space. But we are looking forward to making more, of both, in our new home.”
