Rational Acoustics has debuted a new series of free instructional videos focusing on operation of Smaart Version 8 (v8), the company’s dual-platform (Mac & PC), FFT-based audio analysis software, and has also announced a slate of free webinars focusing on the fundamentals of Smaart v8.
Fourteen instructional videos are available at present, with more to be released in the coming week. Current topics including A Tour Of The Interface, I/O Configuration, Building Transfer Function Measurements, Spectrum Measurement Options, Data Capture, Spectrograph, Signal Generator and more. Check them out here.
The webinars — livestreaming on YouTube — will be presented by Jamie Anderson and/or Chris Tsanjoures. At 2 pm U.S. Eastern time (6 pm UTC) every Monday and Wednesday (beginning next Monday, March 30), Anderson will offer materials based on the Smaart Operator Fundamentals training class, while every Friday at 2 pm U.S. EST, Tsanjoures will focus on special-topic sessions, including topics suggested by Smaart users.
While mostly presentational in style, viewers will also be able to comment and ask questions via a chat window during each livestream (as long as they have a YouTube/Google account and are logged in). And for those who can’t attend in real time, recordings of the sessions, as well as the Powerpoint presentation used in each, will be made available for viewing afterwards. Webinars will be available here.
Although the main webinar content will be starting on Monday, Anderson is presenting a short introductory overview webinar today (Friday) at 2 pm EST, for those who are interested. Rational Acoustics also notes that the live webinars are not intended to replace in-person Smaart training classes, which will resume as soon as feasible.
