Launch Event Next Week For New Powersoft T Series Amplifier Models

New T902 and T904 models allow company to almost entirely replace its K Series, which was originally introduced 18 years ago; live online launch event slated for next Tuesday, June 22.

Powersoft has announced two additions to its T Series touring power amplifier platform — the new T902 and T904 — that allow the company to almost entirely replace its K Series, and they will be featured in an online launch event next Tuesday, June 22 at 9 am, 3 pm and 8 pm (all times CEST). The first T Series models debuted in 2019, equipped with daisy-chained Ethernet connectivity, (Audinate) Dante audio networking, power sharing, improved DSP with advanced EQ groups, and FIR filtering for presets. The new T902 and T904 have been introduced to further extend the applications of the T Series, allowing it to cover the requirements for larger-scale live sound applications.

The T902 is a two-channel model specified to deliver 4,000 watts at 2 ohms, 3,200 watts at 4 ohms, and 1,800 watts at 8 ohms, with high rail voltage and peak current on the outputs designed to make it suitable for driving large 4-ohm subwoofers (i.e., dual 18-inch) as well as two- and three-way line sources. Onboard DSP includes Raised Cosine, IRR and FIR filters as well as precision delay for driving complex cardioid subwoofer arrangements and three-way line sources.

The T904 is a four-channel model stated to deliver 1,800 watts at 2 ohms, 2,000 watts at 4 ohms and 1,600 watts at 8 ohms. It’s particularly suited to driving bi-amped systems such as stage monitors, two-way point source loudspeakers line sources, and smaller subwoofers. Both new amplifiers offer Dante inputs and live impedance monitoring as well as proprietary Active DampingControl for cable resistance compensation.

“Most live sound amplifier families will feature lower voltages for smaller and lower cost products,” states Marc Kocks, manager of the Powersoft Application Engineering team. “In smaller systems, however, it is quite common to have a single 8-ohm loudspeaker per channel. This presented an opportunity for our development team to make a very homogenous amplifier range in which all models can deliver the same high output voltage, so that smaller models can also play ‘full SPL’ on 8-ohm speakers.

“This makes the smaller models more affordable by saving in the power supply and output current capacity, while providing a solid feature set for the entire product family,” he continues. “With the addition of the T902 and T904 to the T Series, it will be able to serve as a flexible and reliable workhorse for any live sound system.”

As the company has been doing with other launches over the past year, the new T Series amplifiers will be premiered in a series of live online sessions this coming June 22 at 9 am, 3 pm and 8 pm (all times CEST). Again, go here to register for the launch event.
