Outfitted with a ribbon driver based on the Versarray line array ribbon, and a 12-inch Black Widow woofer with dual voice coil, push-pull technology and a neodymium magnet, the Impulse 12D produces full-range sound for multiple live audio and music applications. It is driven by 1,200 watts of power with a lightweight, switch-mode power supply and a high-speed class D topology that yields very high audio resolution.
The Impulse 12D back panel offers two input channels and a line output, with a mix of I/O options such as combination XLR-1/4-inch jacks, RCA and install-ready Phoenix connections. Input channels 1 and 2 also have mic/line source switches and gain controls. The Auto-Off function automatically shuts off the power when it no longer detects a signal, while the Line Out allows the user to chain multiple units or send the input signal to another source.
The DynaQ section offers advanced tone controls such as Bass Enhancer, which is an overall loudness boost; a Music/Speech switch that provides optimized EQ settings for each audio type; and Contour, specially configured for program music. A module bay allows for expansion.
The compact PV 6 mixer includes reference-quality mic preamps for clear sound reproduction. Each of the four channels includes XLR and 1/4-inch inputs, phantom power, EQ and effects send, while the master section offers assignable tape input and a master contour EQ which simultaneously cuts mids while slightly boosting the bass and treble in the overall mix. Outputs include left and right for main and control room, effects send and headphones.
