Peavey Launches VSXe Processors And SSE Loudspeaker Series

New DSP-based loudspeaker management systems and commercial installation loudspeakers introduced at Prolight + Sound 2016.

Peavey Commercial Audio has unveiled a new DSP-based loudspeaker management systems plus re-engineered and refocused commercial installation loudspeakers for spoken word applications during the 2016 Prolight+Sound expo in Frankfurt next week (April 5th-8th).

Peavey Commercial Audio, will be launching its VSXe series of loudspeaker management processors that are equally at home in fixed installations as they are for mobile applications.

With two models available – the VSX26e and VSX48e – users can choose between 2 in / 6 out or 4 in / 8 out configurations, with both models supporting 96kHz sample rate audio and processing via a floating point DSP core together with high quality AD-DA converters. The VSXe series of loudspeaker management processors ensures noise free signal processing, control and distribution demanded by today’s professional sound engineers.

With up to nine bands of parametric equalization on both input and output channels users have total electro acoustic control of the audio signal chain with all required and essential processing features such as independent I/O gain, HP and LP filters a wide variety of crossover types to choose from including polarity options and delays on each channel up to 680mS.

With front panel configuration as well as control via a PC and graphical user interface from either the front panel USB port or by the rear panel Ethernet connection allows the user complete remote setup and operation

Another EMEA first showing from Peavey at Prolight+Sound will be its re-engineered SSE loudspeaker series. With its main intent on reproducing and ensuring articulate and intelligible spoken word audio, Peavey is proud to launch this purpose designed and built installation speaker series for any applications where speech reinforcement is essential.

The SSE series loud speakers ensures the intended message is communicated without transient artifacts and articulation loss.

With typical throw distances up to 60ft (20m), the SSE Series is purposely designed to be attractive yet discreet. Available in either black or white finish, the range includes a choice of five front position cabinets and a subwoofer, with a monitor wedge available for lecture theatre and amphitheater applications.

James Kennedy, UK operations manager for Peavey Commercial Audio, says: “Spoken word reinforcement is an area that is often overlooked by speaker manufactures as they tend to focus more on music performance and overlook that in many venues the spoken word is the most important message that is needed to be conveyed to the audience.”

“With such venue requirements and applications in mind our re-engineered SSE Series of install loudspeakers has been specifically created for this purpose together with a frequency range and dynamic characteristics specifically tailored to the human spoken voice but still ensuring high quality music reproduction.”

“The SSE Series is suitable for a wide range of markets, and its scalability make it the perfect solution for education auditoriums and lecture theatres, museums, convention centers, houses of worship and general distributed public address systems.”

Visitors to Peavey’s G20, Hall 4.1 stand were not only able to see and hear their latest solutions, but also given the chance to win a limited edition Jack Daniels Peavey JD-AG1 guitar bundle, complete with Peavey Ecoustic 110 guitar combo amp, deluxe acoustic guitar bag, guitar strap and 25ft instrument cable.

Kennedy added: “At its heart, Peavey is a rock and roll company so it’s fitting that we bring part of that 50-year heritage to Frankfurt with one of our highly valued guitar bundles up for grabs.”
