Peavey Introduces PVXp DSP Powered Loudspeakers

Series includes dual 2-way models (12- and 15-inch) incorporating proprietary Advanced Digital Signal Processing technology with adjustable EQ in portable and flyable enclosures.

Peavey Electronics has introduced the PVXp DSP Series of powered loudspeakers, incorporating proprietary ADSP (Advanced Digital Signal Processing) technology with adjustable EQ.

Cone woofers (12- or 15-inch) in both 2-way models include a compact 50-ounce magnet paired with a 2 3/8-inch voice coil. A Peavey RX 14 compression driver housing a 1.4-inch titanium diaphragm feeds an asymmetrical horn utilizing the company’s Quadratic Throat Waveguide technology that aims coverage to a 100- by 50-degree radius (15 degrees upwards and 35 degrees downwards).

The two models in the series are stated to be capable of producing 128 dB SPL. The onboard amplifiers are fan-cooled. Should the original factory DSP settings need to be restored at any time, there is a system reset with confirmation.

Enclosures include an XLR and 1/4-inch TRS combo jack, built-in mic preamp, and ground lift. There’s also a thru output via male XLR and a separate 1/4-inch TRS jack.

The PVXp 12 DSP measures 24.5 x 16.1 x 15 inches (H x W x D) and weighs 43 pounds, while the PVXp 15 DSP measures 28.2 x 18.9 x 18.7 inches and weighs 51 pounds.

The trapezoidal enclosures are constructed of injection-molded plastic, with flying point inserts on the top, bottom, and right side. The additional PVX eyebolt kit or Peavey Versamount VM 70 mounting systems facilitate ceiling or wall mounting. There’s also a pole mount cup and a carrying handle on the left side of the cabinet.

The PVXp 12 DSP is available for $549.99 and the PVXp 15 DSP is priced at $599.99 (both U.S. MSRP).
