At this week’s Prolight + Sound show in Frankfurt, Outline (hall 8, stand B36) is highlighting the new STADIA100 LA loudspeaker, which combines principles of line-source design with established proprietary Outline technologies in a unit designed to deliver coverage to very large spaces such as sports stadiums.
The new STADIA100 LA is rated as being capable of delivering up to 149 dB with a peak input power handling of 8 kW, coupled with high accuracy of directional control over long distances.
Outline’s proprietary outSIDE, a tough and waterproof elastoplastic coating, interacts with the cabinet material to provide durability regardless of location or conditions.
In addition, Outline has also introduced the iP48 iMode digital loudspeaker processor that provides four inputs and eight outputs into a single rack-space unit and offering several unique performance-focused features.
The iP48‘s use of WFIR (Warped Frequency Finite Impulse Response) filtering technology, based upon the same principles as human hearing, is intended to produce a consistently more natural and lifelike audio response by distributing the frequency resolution over a semi-logarithmic scale.
It also offers Raised Cosine Filters to deliver improved transfer curve shaping, controlling intervention frequency bandwidth more precisely while maintaining minimum-phase response.
All onboard audio I/O can operate in either analog or digital (AES/EBU) and connection via standard Ethernet protocol allows total system control via PC web browser, as well as iPhone/iPad and Mac OS X (App). The four inputs and eight outputs can be configured in a number of ways, depending on the application requirements, including front of house, monitoring and complex multi-zone systems.
