NewTek has announced that NewTek TriCaster portable live production system was used to produce and stream live video to LED screens at the Fifth Annual DIRECTV Celebrity Beach Bowl.
Fans’ text messages from AT&T were also incorporated into the event. The annual no-holds barred flag football game was free and open to the public on Saturday, February 5 at Victory Park in downtown Dallas
The event was also be seen on The 101 Network, and, for the first time ever, will also be broadcast in 3D on DIRECTV’s n3D powered by Panasonic.
Additionally, the game will be broadcast on all of Fox Sports Network’s Regional Sports Networks and affiliates and DIRECTV’s Regional Sports Networks, more than twenty-five networks in total, giving the DIRECTV Celebrity Beach Bowl its biggest audience ever of more than 85 million homes.
This high-energy game is kicking off its fifth Super Bowl weekend. Every year, star athletes and famous celebrities battle it out in a live, televised grudge match to take home the coveted DIRECTV Celebrity Beach Bowl trophy.

Presented by SPIKE, the Celebrity Beach Bowl will feature A-list celebrities and NFL athletes. Attending spectators will catch every move with TriCaster on hand to capture the event in high definition, and project it to the giant display screens.
Also, TriCaster interfaced with AT&T to display text messages from the fans who are chatting about the game, their favorite players and celebrities.
With TriCaster, anyone can simultaneously produce, live stream, broadcast, project and record HD and SD network-style productions.
A single operator or small team can switch between multiple cameras, virtual inputs and live virtual sets, while inserting clips, titles and motion graphics with multi-channel effects.
In addition to the DIRECTV Celebrity Beach Bowl, TriCaster is used by sports organizations, broadcasters, schools, houses of worship, government agencies and others to provide a new level of extended programming and content to their audiences.
