New Talkin’ Yak Live Video – Caution: Channels Merging

Noted front of house engineer and Live Sound International/ProSoundWeb contributor Jim Yakabuski has just released a new video — “Caution: Channels Merging” — on his YouTube channel. Based on his article of the same title (located here), Jim explores the benefits and dangers of combining two inputs from the same source. e.g., Kick Input and Kick Output, Bass DI and Bass Mic. He demonstrates techniques using polarity and input delay to get two similar inputs from the same source working together nicely in the mix. And we get to listen to the legendary Peter Frampton live from Red Rocks along the way!
