New Polish Entertainment Venue Equipped With Versatile Powersoft-Driven System

Integrator Offstage, working with Sound Service, implements design incorporating Duecanali and Ottocanali amplifiers joined by Turbosound and Klark Teknik components.

Jungla, a new restaurant and cocktail bar in north Poland’s largest seashore city, Gdańsk, has been equipped with a Powersoft-driven sound reinforcement system that supports live bands in addition to providing ambience audio.

Poland-based integrator Offstage, owned by Przemysław Waszkiewicz, designed and installed with new system, working closely with Patryk Kozak of Sound Service, who assisted with tuning. Together they created a system incorporating Powersoft, Turbosound, and Klark Teknik components supplied by distributor SoundTrade.

Waszkiewicz explains, “The Klark Teknik DM8000 processor sends signals to the Turbosound iQ12 P.A. via the Ultranet protocol, which has simplified wiring and bypassed all unnecessary signal conversions to analog. With this, the iQ12 was the choice that optimized costs.

“For energy efficiency, we turned to Powersoft’s Duecanali and Ottocanali amplifiers,” he continues. “Powersoft offer very energy-efficient amplifiers, in which losses are minimized with power stages working in the efficient class D. While primarily the choice of Powersoft was determined by the energy efficiency of the products, it was also the flexibility of the product that really drew us to it.”

The Ottocanali amplifier, named for its 8-channel design, allows the system to be divided into several zones within the venue. The ceiling loudspeakers, classed as one of the zones, required a 100-volt line, which wasn’t an issue due to BatFormer, an optional plugin that Powersoft created for the Ottocanali.

BatFormer plugins are inserted into the amplifier chassis through a dedicated lid, allowing the conversion of single channels — or all of them — into 70- or 100-volt output. “Thanks to the BatFormer transformer option, it wasn’t necessary to add another amplifier to this line, which saved on cost. The potential contained in a single rack space is quite phenomenal, honestly,” Waszkiewicz says

Offstage has used Powersoft amplifiers for more than a decade. In fact, the company’s first major purchase upon opening in 2008 was an LQ2804 amplifier and then 2-channel LD models. Today the main products Offstage utilizes are four X8 amplifiers, which were gradually supplemented with T Series models with compatible DSP.

“I consider Powersoft amplifiers, especially the new X and T Series, to be the most universal tool on the market. They have been designed with a rich library of pre-sets that facilitate with a wide range of popular speaker sets,” Waszkiewicz concludes. “The ArmoníaPlus software provides to a system engineer the comfort of almost total control over his work, allowing a very efficient tuning process, even with quite extensive configurations, Overall, we felt the product was a huge success, and we know we can always rely on Powersoft’s incredible products and support throughout the installations we’re part of.”
