Studio Float has announced IsoRafts, a range of new vibration isolation products called IsoRafts constructed of wood and silicone and designed to provide accurate predictive acoustic performance.
Making their debut later this week at the Summer NAMM show later this week in Nashville, IsoRafts are geared towards studio designers and builders for private or commercial production/performance venue projects. They attach directly to the side of studs and joists, using standard fastening techniques, thus enabling easier construction to move more quickly and smoothly. This means that floors, walls and ceilings are effectively “floating” and decoupled from the main structure, helping to prevent sound transfer between spaces.
Several IsoRaft models are available:
— Deck IsoRafts (for floors) available in three sizes ( 2, 3, 4 inches) and height options of low 1-1/4-inch height profile or high 2-1/4-inch profile for handling underfloor cabling.
— Wall IsoRafts with a 1/4-inch offset to provide an air gap.
— Ceiling IsoRafts available for use with hanging acoustical panels or with a threaded rod insert for more precise adjustability of acoustical treatments. (The Wall IsoRaft may also be use in a ceiling application.)
New Studio Float IsoRafts will be designed at the Pro Audio Design booth — #212 — at Summer NAMM. The range is available at studio-float.com, from $7.65 – $11.70 per raft. Prices listed are subject to local taxes and shipping.
