New House Of Blues Houston Opens With All-Sennheiser/Neumann Microphone Lineup

The Houston venue joins the dozen House of Blues establishments in the U.S. to utilize Sennheiser evolution wireless and Neumann wired vocal microphones, evolution instrument mics as well as evolution wireless personal monitoring systems

The new House of Blues in Houston, a 43,000-square-foot facility located in the recently opened $200 million Houston Pavilions complex, features a wide assortment of Sennheiser and Neumann microphones.

The Houston venue joins the dozen House of Blues establishments (all of which are part of the Live Nation company) in the U.S. to utilize Sennheiser evolution wireless and Neumann wired vocal microphones, evolution instrument mics as well as evolution wireless personal monitoring systems.

The equipment list at each House of Blues includes multiple e 901, e 902, e 904, e 905, e 906, e 908B, e 914, e 614, MD 421 II, MKH 60 and MKH 70 wired microphones for amplified and acoustic instruments. Wired vocal microphones include e 865 condensers, dynamic e 935s and e 945s, as well as Neumann KMS 104 and KMS 105 condenser mics. Two pairs of HD 280 Pro headphones are used for monitoring.

Sennheiser evolution wireless systems at each venue include eight SKM 935 G2 handheld vocal microphones, plus four EM 550 G2 true diversity twin receivers. evolution wireless ew 300 IEM G2 personal monitor set-ups with an A 5000 CP circularly polarized antenna round out the RF setup.

According to Brady Campbell, production manager for House of Blues Houston, the relationship with Sennheiser is already off to a great start. “The quality of Sennheiser’s microphones just brings out the quality of the PA,” he says. “It sounds like you’re listening to a really good home stereo, that’s how crystal clear everything is. And the wireless mics are perfect. At this point I wouldn’t go with anything but Sennheiser for wireless. They just have a superior product as far as I’m concerned.”

The upcoming concert slate for House of Blues Houston includes The Pretenders, Jesse McCartney, Dr. John and the Neville Brothers, Jonny Lang with Sharon Little, Big Head Todd & The Monsters, Katy Perry with Alpha Beat, O.A.R. with Eric Hutchinson, Gov’t Mule & The Disco Biscuits.
