New Audix CabGrabber XL Aids In Mic’ing Instrument Amplifiers

New model of CabGrabber designed for larger instrument amplifier cabinets

The Audix CabGrabber XL is now available, allowing microphones to be easily attached to instrument amplifier cabinets. The CabGrabber XL is built to attach to cabinets 14 to 20 inches in depth. Simple, compact and easy to use, the CabGrabber XL enables sound engineers and musicians to place a microphone with the use of a microphone stand.

The CabGrabber XL is constructed of durable steel tubing and is very capable of holding microphones that are typically used for mic’ing guitar cabinets securely and firmly in place, including large diaphragm condenser mics weighing up to 16 ounces.

Using tension to attach to the cabinet, the CabGrabber XL works on cabinets with a flat surface or a recessed edge. The tubular arm, which is threaded to hold any standard microphone clip, will rotate 180 degrees and can be locked into position with a thumb screw.

Cliff Castle, VP of Sales, states, “Ever since we produced the i-5 five years ago we have wanted to produce an accessory that we could bundle with it that would simplify miking a guitar cabinet. The CabGrabber has turned out to be the perfect product for the job, and now with the addition of the XL version, the two products will handle just about every cabinet out there.”

With a condensed length of just 12.5 inches, the CabGrabber XL can easily be stored in the back of an amp or a gig bag. The CabGrabber XL is available from authorized Audix dealers.
