New 1.4 Software for Euphonix MC Pro and System 5-MC

Euphonix has announced its release of the 1.4 software update for the MC Pro and System 5-MC professional controllers.

The new software offers enhancements to operation with Pro Tools, Logic Pro 8, Nuendo, Pyramix and Mackie Control applications such as Final Cut Pro and Soundtrack Pro.

The new software also includes 96kHz support, and a new touch-screen GUI interface for Studio Monitor Express, the surround monitoring application that is included with MC Pro and System 5-MC.

MC Pro and System 5-MC are professional control surfaces that communicate with multiple software applications and workstations using the Euphonix high-speed EuCon control protocol over Ethernet.

EuCon allows connectivity to native EuCon applications such as Logic Pro, Nuendo, and Pyramix, as well as transporting HUI and Mackie control protocol for applications such as Pro Tools and Final Cut Pro.

The System 5-MC includes an MC Pro for master control functions together with System 5 channel strips with 8 knobs and TFT screen displays.

1.4 includes major enhancements to operation with Pro Tools including advanced operation of the channel strip and MC Pro knobsets.

Input, Dynamics, EQ, Aux, Pan and Mix selections are now operational for selection of function to knobsets.

The EQ and Dynamics buttons allow control of Pro Tools standard EQ and Dynamics plug-ins from the knobs. Metering and pan displays have been improved and new jog wheel edit modes have been implemented.

Logic Pro 8.0.2 support includes major speed enhancements. The latest Nuendo EuCon adaptor is included and supports Nuendo 4.2.2. Pyramix 6.x connectivity is greatly improved and now more tightly integrates with the Pyramix mixer, monitoring system and talkback.

The new 1.4 software also includes Mackie Control protocol support for the RME DSP mixer, improved stability and banking fixes for Final Cut Pro and Soundtrack Pro.

The software also comes with new Application Sets – sets of pre-programmed MC Pro SmartSwitches – for Apogee Maestro, Logic Pro 8 and Pro Tools 7.4.

“This is a major upgrade for MC Pro and System 5-MC,” commented Martin Kloiber, Euphonix CEO, “and it comes as a result of extensive cooperation with our EuCon partners including Apple, Steinberg, Merging and Apogee.

“Many of our customers are also Pro Tools users so we have spent a lot of time developing enhanced connectivity and operation with this important application by implementing advanced HUI modes within EuCon.”
