Milwaukee’s Go Audio Invests In Martin Audio WPC

Live event production company adds Wavefront Precision Compact line arrays and iKON iK42 amplifiers to rental inventory.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s Go Audio recently acquired 12 Wavefront Precision Compact (WPC) enclosures and four iKON iK42 amplifiers to add to their extensive repertoire of Martin Audio loudspeakers.

Founded in 1995, the company specializes in live event production with a focus on corporate and college university work along with concerts, festivals and fundraising galas.

Asked about the WPC purchase, president Brian Ingwell explains, “We needed to provide outfills for our MLA Compact system at a large event we were doing, and when we contacted our friends at OSA International in Chicago about a Compact sub-rental, they didn’t have any available but suggested we try some of their WPC as they have a similar voicing and are the same size and shape. They ended up working out great.

“Later on, we acquired WPC as a main system that we’ve already put to use on various events including Waukesha Blues Fest and the WMSE Backyard BBQ––events where clients have more limited budgets. We also used it as an outfill system for the New Student Convocation and Community Welcome at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin and it performed wonderfully as it integrates so seamlessly with MLA Compact.

“Our clients are very happy and WPC represents a real step up in audio quality. We’ve been really impressed with WPC using 2 box resolution with throws of 200-250 feet––the coverage has been really smooth from front to back which is really impressive.”
