Sonarworks and Merging Technologies announced that they are introducing a SoundID Reference with multichannel hardware integration to MERGING+ANUBIS at the upcoming 2022 AES Convention Center at the Javitz Center in New York.

SoundID Reference is loudspeaker and headphone calibration software that’s designed to remove unwanted coloration and deliver accurate studio reference sound, and it had previously been stereo-only running on Anubis. MERGING+ANUBIS is the first interface and monitoring controller on the market to be able to import the SoundID Reference multichannel preset and run it onto any loudspeaker set, making it well-suited for multichannel configurations up to 9.1.6.Dolby Atmos rooms.

Anubis is a monitoring engine for Atmos workflows available to any DAW. Combined with Hapi MKII and/or Horus, integration into virtually any studio setup is possible. Aside from the SoundID Reference multichannel addition, other benefits include:

— EQ resources have been upgraded from 84 bands to 336 bands, making it easier to calibrate challenging Dolby Atmos rooms. This is free of charge to all Anubis owners.

— SoundID Reference stereo correction (headphones and loudspeakers) is faster to make it more suited for tracking. The added latency is now stated to be less than 0.35 ms at 4 8kHz, less than 0.18 ms at 96 kHz, and even lower at 192 kHz and DXD.

— More SoundID Reference headphone calibration profiles can now be run by Anubis.

Consumers can purchase the firmware update to add multichannel functionality beginning October 19 for CHF $149. Convention guests and media are invited to test out the product in the Demo Room at AES both on October 19 and 20 at 12:55 pm.
