Martin Audio has announced that it has now started shipping the ADORN series of ceiling loudspeakers to Europe and North America, following the first shipments to the APAC territories in September. The new installation series, which includes the company’s first pendant model, was first announced back in February of this year.
All of the new models have a nominal impedance of 16 ohms, enabling four or more loudspeakers to be driven in parallel by one amplifier channel, intended to maximize efficiency and minimize cost. They’re also fitted with an internal 70/100-volt multi-tap line transformer with a switch to select the output level. For full-bandwidth protection, the low- and high-frequency sections are individually protected against overload.
“We’re excited to be continuing shipment of these additions to the ADORN range, which is already becoming a firm favourite of commercial installs,” states Martin Audio MD Dom Harter. “Our considered strategy of shipping first to the APAC region, to take advantage of expansion opportunities in those territories, is already paying off, and we are now ready to focus on our European and North American hubs.”
The ADORN lineup includes:
ACS-40T, an in-ceiling unit comprised of a 4-inch (100 mm) LF driver and a 0.75-inch (19 mm) silk-dome tweeter with stated 108 dB peak output at 1 meter. A ported design is intended to deliver strong bass down to 73 Hz, while wide 180-degree conical coverage makes it particularly suitable for low ceilings and reduces the number of loudspeakers required for coverage. It comes with a shallow backcan for installation in ceilings with a minimum cavity depth.
ACS-55TS, an in-ceiling model with a 5.25-inch (130 mm) LF driver and a 0.75-inch (19 mm) silk-dome tweeter with stated 113 dB peak output at 1 meter. It too has a ported design intended to provide strong bass down to 79 Hz. Conical covers is 150 degrees, and like the ACS-40T, it has a shallow backcan for installation in ceilings with a minimum cavity depth.
ACS-55T, an in-ceiling model with similar components and stated specs as the ACS-55TS but with a more generous internal volume maximises low frequency output for strong bass down to 62 Hz.
ACP-55T, the pendant loudspeaker with a 5.25-inch (130 mm) LF driver and a 0.75-inch (19 mm) silk-dome tweeter, stated to produce 109 dB peak output at 1 meter and provide 150-degree conical coverage. The stylish enclosure is equipped with a single-point mounting system plus provision for attaching a safety cable.
