St. Louis radio station 105.7 FM The Point sponsors FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE! at Ballpark Village near Busch Stadium.

Ballpark Village, the entertainment district in the heart of St. Louis’ central business district and adjacent to Busch Stadium, recently opened a new FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE! Summer Concert Series presented by local radio station 105.7 FM The Point.

Logic Systems Sound & Lighting (St. Louis) provides sound for the performances with eight NEXO GEO S12 line array speakers per side, eight RS18 subs, and four PS8 speakers used for front fills.

A Yamaha PM5D-RH digital audio console was used for monitors. The same system configuration was used in July for the band Urge.

On two early August evenings, New Orleans native Trombone Shorty, bandleader and front-man of Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, a hard-edged funk band that employs hip-hop beats, rock dynamics and improvisation in a jazz tradition performed.

The night prior, Greek Fire opened for New York-based Taking Back Sunday who took to the stage singing hits like “You’re So Last Summer” and “Liar”.

“When selecting the PA for Ballpark Village’s new outdoor space, the NEXO GEO S12 provided the best versatility and sonic performance for the space and the rigging weight limits we were working with,” states Brian Bird, Logic’s on-site sound engineer.
