Lawo has introduced the latest addition to its mc² broadcast audio mixing console range to IBC (Hall 8, Stand B50).
The Lawo mc²56xc is the latest addition to the company’s mc² family, and is offered in 32-, 48-, 64- and 80-fader versions.
With native RAVENNA/AES67 support and a Lawo Nova73 core, the consoles support up to 888 fully configured DSP channels, up to 144 summing buses and have an 8,192 x 8,192 mono-channel matrix capacity. An updated operator interface features an overbridge with bright 21.5-inch HD touchscreens, button-glow for color-coding and enhanced user guidance.
Combining the audio processing capabilities of the mc² series with the touchscreen operation from the Lawo mc²56 and the extended control interface from the mc²66, this console is for demanding engineers with a need for performance. The mc²56xc’s extended free control section gives direct access to even more parameters giving balance between channel strip and central section control workflows.
The console supports both global and individual parameter assignments of all free controls in each channel strip, with color-coded indication for an overview of user-defined functionality. The mc²56xc can be custom configured to address a wide range of workflow requirements. The metering bridge shows all fader levels clearly on the console’s HD touchscreen displays, with multi-row metering for easy viewing of signals from other layers or banks. For further customization the overbridge also accommodates integration of additional modules such as a user panel or RTW goniometer.
Lawo is supporting the MNA initiative for promoting the AES67 standard with the adoption and implementation of AES67 across its full product range. In order to support the transition to IP-based infrastructures, Lawo encourages all manufacturers to embrace interoperability and open standards for the benefit of all customers. The company is also a founding member of the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), founded to ensure that all video- and audio-over-IP solutions brought to market offer complete interoperability and are based on open standards for seamless integration into media workflow environments.
