LAVOCE Italiana has announced that it is introducing the CSF061.71K, a new 6.5-inch ferrite common high-frequency/low-frequency magnet coaxial loudspeaker driver at the upcoming ISE 2023 show in Barcelona (booth #7G150).

The new driver’s common HF/LF motor has been optimized by the company’s R&D team and compliments the 8-inch version, CSF082.00K, that was launched in 2021. Both models form the beginning of a wider range of steel basket common motor coaxials with 10-, 12- and 15-inch versions coming later in 2023.

The CSF061.71K has stated 150-watt AES power handling and 96 dB sensitivity for the LF and a 35-watt AES power handling and 103.5 dB sensitivity for the HF. The LF woofer uses a 1.7-inch edgewound copper-clad aluminium voice coil and the HF uses a 1.4-inch copper-clad aluminium voice coil on a one-piece polyimide diaphragm and surround. The addition of double demodulating rings is designed to help minimize distortion. Stated frequency range is 75 Hz to 20 kHz with 100-degree nominal coverage,

Lavoce international sales director Kevin Shove says, “Our R&D team based in Potenza Picena have really harnessed the complex nature of common HF/LF magnet coaxial design to produce an attractive premium performance coaxial proposition. We are experiencing a high level of interest in this category for portable and install applications, so CSF061.71K is a welcome addition which will offer system designers a higher power 6.5-inch coaxial solution for single point-source projects or as the mid-high in a three-way system.”
