Sound Image (Escondido, CA) has announced the appointment of Laurence Italia as vice president of its integration division, where he is responsible for new business development as well as assuming management of the day-to-day business and staff.
Italia spent more than 28 years at Yamaha Corporation of America, most recently serving as vice president/general manager of Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, a time of significant growth for the company and its Yamaha Commercial Audio products, including NEXO loudspeakers.
He was also instrumental in providing design recommendations for the PM1D, PM5D, M7CL, LS9, and new Rivage PM10 digital consoles. Under his direction, the Yamaha CIS (Commercial Installations Solutions) product line was launched within North America, along with the NUAGE advanced digital audio production DAW system, a collaborative effort between Yamaha and Steinberg.
“Larry has strong ties in the industry, specifically tour and install sound, and with his vast knowledge in marketing of installation products from sales through system design, we know he will be a tremendous asset to our team,” states Dave Shadoan, president and CEO of Sound Image.
