Kling & Freitag Introduces SONA 5 Compact Loudspeakers With Swivel-Mount

The new Kling & Freitag SONA 5 is a compact, passive loudspeaker system offering a neutral and true-to-detail playback quality, very flexible alignment, and a modern enclosure design that blends into sophisticated design settings.

First introduced at the 2008 Prolight+Sound in Frankfurt, it will be featured by the company at the upcoming Integrated Systems Europe (Kling & Freitag will be in Hall 11, Booth G41).

The SONA 5 comes with an integrated swivel arm with ball joint that enables very flexible alignment, with movement up to 90 degrees horizontally or vertically. A safety eyebolt is also integrated into the back of the enclosure.

This two-way loudspeaker system incorporates a 1-inch dome tweeter connected to a Waveguide and a 5-inch bass chassis. A phase corrected crossover guarantees sound quality that is predominantly constant, even under extreme listening conditions. Nominal coverage is 120 degrees x 90 degrees.

The enclosure is made of flame-protected plastic with the classification V0 according to UL94. Both black and white enclosures are available as standard, and upon request, many special RAL colors are available for special lacquering requests.

The SONA 5 is especially designed for the integration into artistically demanding settings and blends very well into conference areas, multimedia usages, restaurant sound systems, and temporary applications, i.e., at trade show booths. It is also suitable for many PA functions in the nearfield and for de-centralized PA systems such as surround, effect, and delay.
