JBL Vertec Subcompact Line Arrays Added To Rental Inventory By Mastermind Production Group Inc.

The subcompact VERTEC arrays were a favorite of Mastermind for their manageable size, clarity and intelligibility.

A growing audio/video/lighting contractor and event production company in southern California specializing in live events, installation, rentals and sales, Mastermind Production Group Inc. has added JBL VERTEC subcompact line array loudspeakers to its roster of live sound equipment.

Recently, Mastermind purchased 18 JBL VERTEC VT4886 subcompact line array elements and nine VT4883 subcompact arrayable subwoofers to add to its rental inventory.

Other JBL speakers in use by Mastermind include VRX932LA-1 Constant Curvature powered loudspeakers, eight 18-inch VRX918S subwoofers, SRX712M stage monitors, and AC25 speakers for use as area fill speakers.

The company will be adding more VERTEC VT4886 and VT4883 speakers by the end of December.

“We are a regional sound company in Orange County, California. We pride ourselves on having great gear and doing great work,” said Chad Griswold, President of Mastermind Production Group Inc.

“We do a lot of church and school events, functions for the City of Anaheim, as well as business and corporate events of all types.”

“We strive to distinguish ourselves by providing the best possible sound systems to our customers,” continued Griswold.

“When we decided to upgrade some of our systems, we looked at a number of loudspeaker options before choosing the new JBL VERTEC Subcompact models for their manageable size, clarity and intelligibility over a wide coverage area, voice-matching among different models and ease of installation.”

“Our first event with the VERTEC line arrays was a 2,000-seat outdoor Easter service. We’ve done numerous projects since then, and in every case, the VERTEC line arrays have been fantastic.”

“They’re the type of product where once they’re hung properly, the speakers do the rest of the work. You don’t have to tweak them at all.”

Griswold singled out a recent application at the Lutheran Educators Conference in Palm Desert, California. “The Conference included a full praise band, a 30-piece choir and various presenters, with about 1,000 people in attendance.”

“The VERTEC line arrays performed absolutely great, as expected, and were a pleasure to set up. I entered the venue and speaker information into the JBL Line Array Calculator setup software, and what I heard coming out of the hang was spot-on with the coverage and levels that were represented on my computer screen.”

“I only had to adjust a couple of frequencies on my main graphic EQ, primarily to compensate for acoustical issues in the room. Everybody was very happy with the uniformity of the sound coverage, as well as the sound of the loudspeakers.”
