HARMAN Professional Solutions has announced the introduction of the JBL IRX115S powered subwoofer, the latest member of the company’s IRX Series and equipped with custom driver and amplifier designs housed in a tuned, ported enclosure with built-in crossover and polarity settings.
“With our IRX Series, we’ve drawn from 70 years of JBL innovation to design a portable P.A. that’s lightweight, powerful and doesn’t take a lot of work to sound great,” says Craig Lambrecht, Director, Portable P.A, HARMAN Professional Solutions. “JBL IRX Series loudspeakers already deliver stunning sound in an incredibly compact footprint. By adding the IRX115S subwoofer, users can enhance their systems with room-shaking bass, without breaking anyone’s budget—or back.”
The IRX115S employs a 15-inch woofer with 3-inch voice coil and has a stated frequency range of 35 Hz to 147 Hz (-10 dB) with stated maximum SPL of 128 dB. The onboard power amplifier, rated to deliver up to 1,300 watts, is also designed to protect the components in supporting a high level of acoustic performance. Selectable 80 Hz, 100 Hz and 120 Hz crossover points are intended to help smooth out system response, especially when used with JBL IRX Series loudspeakers. A tuned port in the enclosure is designed to optimize response and reduce woofer noise.
Settings are provided to adjust crossover and polarity to optimize system response to the specific space and application. When paired with 8-inch IRX108BT and/or 12-inch IRX112BT powered loudspeakers, there’s also access to Bluetooth audio streaming, dbx automatic feedback suppression, ducking and EQ presets.
The MDF enclosure, with total weight of 65.3 pounds, has a tight-gauge, reinforced honeycomb grille designed to offer protection. A built-in pole mount expands system configuration options, and transport is made easier with ergonomic handles.
The new The JBL IRX115S will be available in Q4, 2020.
