JBL By Harman Debuts All-Weather AWC62 Loudspeaker

Weather-resistant 2-way coaxial model offers 6.5-inch LF driver and 1-inch HF compression driver with a frequency range of 70Hz-18kHz.

Harman Professional Solutions announces the JBL AWC62 all-weather 2-way coaxial loudspeaker, the latest addition to the lineup of JBL AW and AWC Series loudspeakers.

Featuring a compact, weather-resistant design, the AWC62 delivers clarity for speech and extended frequency response for music, to cover spot-fill applications at stadiums, racetracks, fairgrounds, water parks and other outdoor venues.

“Sports and entertainment venues worldwide rely on JBL AW and AWC Series speakers for their exceptional sound quality and proven durability in adverse weather conditions,” says Rick Kamlet, senior manager, Commercial Loudspeakers, Harman. “We’re excited to extend the AW and AWC Series family with the AWC62, our most compact all-weather speaker. With full frequency response and a low-profile design, customers can experience extraordinary sound at, sports facilities, racetracks, and other outdoor venues without missing the action because a speaker is in the way.”

Like all AWC speakers, the AWC62 incorporates a coaxial driver with a small loudspeaker profile. For venues where larger speakers obstruct important views of gameplay or entertainment, the AWC62 offers consistent 110° coverage in a cabinet that measures just 10.2 x 10.2 x 10.1-inches. A unique design with a coaxial 6.5-inch low-frequency driver and 1-inch high-frequency compression driver eliminates high-frequency beaming common, and extends pattern control to lower frequencies, with a frequency range of 70Hz-18kHz.

The AWC62 is IP56 rated to deliver wide bandwidth, intelligible sound even in the harshest environments. For long-term outdoor use, a rugged fiberglass reinforced ABS cabinet and treated grille with multi-layer weather backing provide protection from dust, wind and heavy rain. The enclosure is braced for low-frequency performance, with a Kevlar-reinforced low-frequency cone and a high-temperature voice coil.

The AWC62 joins a family of powerful outdoor loudspeakers, including larger AWC and AW Series products, as well as WRC- and WRX-treated versions of the JBL AE Series. AWC62 loudspeakers provide 175-watt power handling and are equipped with a 120W 70V/100V multi-tap transformer. Each AWC62 ships with a weather-capable U-type mounting bracket for easy installation. JBL AWC62 loudspeakers are now available in light gray or black (-BK).
