JBL Announces Several New Additions To Control Contractor Series

New models include wall-mount, pendant and landscape loudspeakers as well as subwoofers, all with multitap transformers for use in distributed systems and switchable for direct operation.

The JBL Contractor Control Series has expanded with several new models.

HARMAN Professional Solutions has announced the expansion of the JBL Professional Control Contractor Series with the addition of several new loudspeakers and subwoofers for a range of commercial sound installations.

New models include wall-mount, pendant and landscape loudspeakers as well as subwoofers. All are outfitted with multitap transformers for use in distributed systems, and are switchable for direct operation.

“JBL’s new loudspeakers and subwoofers really check all the boxes for integrators,” says Rick Kamlet, senior manager, installed loudspeakers, HARMAN Professional Solutions. “They provide power and clarity in a range of challenging acoustic environments, and they don’t just sound great, they’re incredibly versatile. With sonic signatures that complement JBL’s existing installation products, they can be mixed and matched to create the perfect solution for any application or budget. And they’re absolutely gorgeous.”

New models include:

— The Control 68HP two-way pendant loudspeaker is designed to provide clarity and consistent coverage in rooms with open-architecture ceilings, spaces with challenging acoustics and other locations requiring high SPL capability from a pendant loudspeaker. Its driver complement includes an 8-inch Kevlar-reinforced low-frequency driver with a 2-inch voice coil.

— The SLP12/T and SLP14/T on-wall loudspeakers are designed to provide broad, consistent coverage for boardrooms, restaurants, retail and hospitality spaces, museums and any installation application calling for a discreet, close-to-the-wall form factor. Installation is done via an included slide-in wall bracket and both models are available in black or white finishes.

— Compact, weather-resistant GSF3 (two-way coaxial 3-inch) and GFS6 (two-way coaxial 6-inch) aimable landscape loudspeakers are designed to provide discreet sound for outdoor applications, including shopping malls, theme parks, sports venues and more. Both models deliver full-range models can be extended further with the new GSB8 and GSB12 landscape subwoofers.

— GSB8 (8-inch) and GSB12 (12-inch) in-ground landscape subwoofers augment GSF landscape loudspeakers to provide full-range sound in lawn and garden areas of hotels, shopping complexes, restaurants, public spaces, theme parks or any application that demands deeper bass. Both models extend down to a stated 35 Hz, with a multiple-slope low-pass filter.

— Control 89MS IP56-rated above-ground subwoofer with an 8-inch driver that augments the low-frequency performance of JBL Control 80 Series landscape loudspeakers in applications such as lawn areas of hotels, restaurants and other hospitality and retail complexes.
