JBL Professional announced the immediate availability of the IRX115S, a powered 15-inch subwoofer that’s the newest model in the IRX Series portable loudspeakers.
Stated to provide low-frequency response down to 35 Hz (upper response is 147 Hz, -10 dB) and maximum sound pressure level of 128 dB, the IRX115S incorporates custom driver and amplifier designs in a tuned, ported enclosure with built-in crossover and polarity settings.
The 15-inch woofer has a 3-inch voice coil, driven by an onboard power amplifier rated to supply up to 1,300 watts. The selectable 80 Hz, 100 Hz and 120 Hz crossover points are designed to help smooth out system response, especially when used with IRX Series loudspeakers. The tuned port is intended to reduce woofer noise.
The durable MDF enclosure, designed for durability and weighing 65 pounds, has a tight-gauge, reinforced honeycomb bevel pattern that is designed to offer added protection without compromising acoustic performance. It includes ergonomic handles for transport.
Users can pair the IRX115S with IRX Series powered loudspeakers for access to Bluetooth audio streaming, dbx automatic feedback suppression, ducking and EQ presets.
