Harman Revel Now Shipping Architectural Series In-Wall & In-Ceiling Speakers

Harman Revel has announced it is now shipping its Architectural Series loudspeakers, a complete lineup of 21 in-wall and in-ceiling speakers that incorporate high-end drivers and components to deliver superlative sound.

The loudspeakers have a sleek design that blends seamlessly into any room, and feature a patented RollerLock tool-free installation mechanism.

The Architectural Series includes 11 in-wall models from a 6.5-inch-woofer 2-way to a 9-inch-woofer 3-way speaker, and 10 in-ceiling models ranging from a 4-inch-woofer 2-way to a 3-way LCR speaker.

“Our new Architectural Series loudspeakers bring a unique combination of advantages to the custom-installation market – the exceptional sound quality Revel is noted for, along with unmatched ease of installation and a design that blends with any room,” said Jim Garrett, Market Manager, Harman High Performance A/V.

All Revel Architectural Series models feature an exclusive, newly developed RollerLock mounting mechanism that enables installation without any tools for clamping to the drywall.

The RollerLock mechanism accommodates a wide range of wall thicknesses and construction methods. All the speakers have Zero-Bezel magnetic grilles that attach magnetically, for an elegant, unobtrusive appearance.

The in-ceiling models come with both round and square Zero-Bezel grilles, to match any ceiling fixture and lighting, and the grilles can be painted if desired.

Revel Architectural Series speakers incorporate high-end driver technologies to set a new standard for in-wall and in-ceiling designs.

The aluminum-dome tweeters operate in conjunction with Revel’s CAI waveguide, which utilizes a series of computer-designed curves that are designed to provide a more seamless blend between the tweeter and the woofer and yield a more natural sound.

In addition, the in-ceiling waveguides are mounted in an offset position that significantly reduces the acoustic anomalies that can be caused by typical in-ceiling speaker tweeter placement.

The woofers are constructed using Micro Ceramic Composite (MCC) cone material, which is created by deep-anodizing both sides of an aluminum core to give it superior mechanical and acoustical properties.

The MCC material combines strength and stiffness with light weight, for exceptional resolution, transient response and neutrality. Premium components are used in the crossover network, to maintain maximum sonic purity.

Revel Architectural Series loudspeakers are voice matched to complement the company’s Ultima2, Performa and Concerta floorstanding, monitor and center channel loudspeakers, for a seamless sonic blend when used in a multichannel installation.

All in-ceiling models (excluding the C540) are currently available. All in-wall models will be available in June 2011.
