Harman Professional Renews Support Of The Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing

Harman Pro participates in a wide variety of activities that promote quality in audio

Harman Professional has renewed its support of the Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing as a P&E Wing Sustaining Partner.

Harman Professional brands AKG Acoustics, JBL Professional and Lexicon has been successful in efforts to promote quality in audio, participating in a wide variety of activities that include being the title sponsor of high-profile regional Academy Chapter events, having a presence on the P&E Wing section of the new Grammy PRO site and being supporters of the P&E Wing Manufacturer’s Council.

In addition to reaffiming its sponsorship, Harman Pro has also added dbx as a fourth brand that will work closely with the P&E Wing to support its initiatives and membership.

Harman Pro/P&E Wing projects in 2013-2014 included the “From Mic to Mix” live recording demonstration in Miami featuring Latin pop singer Aymee Nuviola with her 10-piece band; “En La Mezcla,” the first and second annual P&E Wing Latin Grammy Awards celebrations held in Las Vegas just prior to the 14th and 15th annual Latin Grammy Awards; and the Nashville community-driven grand opening of Pearl-Cohn Entertainment Magnet High School’s audio recording studio and learning center.

Other joint endeavors during the past year included a high resolution audo press event held at Jungle City Studios in New York City during CE (Consumer Electronics) Week, and numerous incarnations of the popular “Lost In Translation” educational series, in which Grammy-winning engineer/producer Andrew Scheps demonstrates the benefits of High Resolution Audio.

“Harman proudly continues to support the Producers & Engineers Wing,” states Bryan Bradley, GM, Loudspeaker, Headphone & Microphone Strategic Business Unit. “Their work as advocates for the recording industry, artists, equipment manufacturers and listeners is of vital importance in this period of transition in the music industry and beyond. We look forward to another year of rewarding projects together.”

“We are proud that Harman has chosen to continue its partnership with The Producers & Engineers Wing,” adds Maureen Droney, managing director of The Recording Academy P&E Wing. “JBL Professional, dbx, AKG Acoustics and Lexicon share the P&E Wing’s vision of capturing and delivering the highest quality audio. We look forward to this continued partnership and to another year of great work and pushing the high quality audio envelope.”
