U.S. distributor Group One Limited has announced the appointment of Julian Gates as technical support engineer for DiGiCo and KLANG, providing telephone and online technical support for their domestic customer bases, performing repairs and upgrade services in the shop, site-visiting clients to conduct product trainings and other related duties.
Gates is spending the remainder of 2022 in Group One’s Farmingdale, New York office being trained by fellow technical support engineers Chip Sciacca and Trevor Waite. In January, he will transition to the Rock Lititz campus in Lititz, PA, where he will work with the team based at DiGiCo’s new POD 5 location.
“We’re really happy to welcome Julian as our newest addition to DiGiCo’s unrivaled support team,” says Matt Larson, Group One vice president of professional audio. “He joins us with many years of experience as the system engineer for Houston-based LD Systems, where he served on some of their biggest festivals, including Lollapalooza, RodeoHouston, and Austin City Limits. Julian has also spent the past several years out with Clair Global and other sound companies on a number of top tours, including Bruno Mars, Machine Gun Kelly, and Post Malone, so he brings plenty of proven skills and end-user perspective to his new post with us.”
“When I found out about the job opening, I was immediately interested in the opportunity to work alongside the very smart and amazing people at DiGiCo and KLANG,” Gates adds. “My 15-plus years in this industry, mainly spent as a FOH systems engineer, has equipped me with a lot of solid technical and practical understanding. I’m looking forward to bringing that knowledge and experience—plus my insatiable drive to learn the latest tech and tips—to help provide the very best support to Group One’s customers for years to come.”
