German Comedian Cindy aus Marzahn Tours With Meyer Sound MICA Line Arrays

Adapoe chose MICA to clearly deliver Marzahn's punch lines throughout her tour.

One of Germany’s most successful standup comedians in recent years, Cindy aus Marzahn kicked off her 80-date tour “Nicht jeder Prinz kommt uff’m Pferd!” (“Not Every Prince Comes on a Horseback!”) with three consecutive nights in Berlin’s Tempodrom.

Weimar, Germany-based adapoe Event- und Studiotechnik GmbH is providing a Meyer Sound system to ensure every joke is delivered with the utmost clarity.

From her welfare collection to her quest to find prince charming, Cindy’s eventful life story is the inspiration of her jokes that resonate with the sellout crowds throughout Germany.

“For us the spoken word is the holy grail for each comedian,” said Jörg Blumenstein, managing director of adapoe. “Any poorly reinforced gag and any punch line lost can ruin the experience of a comedy show.”

“So intelligibility is our main priority. Additionally there is a complete rock ‘n’ roll band which has to fit into the mix.”

The system setup for the Berlin shows featured two hangs with 12 MICA line array loudspeakers each, augmented by two outfill hangs of six M’elodie line array loudspeakers each and a center fill of two UPA-1P loudspeakers.

Nearfill was provided by two UPA-2P’s stacked on six 700-HP subwoofers. At stage lip were four UPM-1P covering the first few rows.

A Galileo loudspeaker management system handled the drive of the system along with companion Compass control software controlled from a laptop at FOH. For system tuning, the crew used a SIM 3 audio analyzer. Four MJF-212A stage monitors and two UPA-1P loudspeakers served as foldback for Cindy.

Since the first shows in Berlin, the tour’s audio engineers Sebastian Wolf and Matthias Merker, have been very enthusiastic about the sound system’s performance and the ability to predict system coverage using the MAPP Online Pro acoustical prediction program.

“The large inventory of Meyer Sound systems at adapoe and the consistency of the different speaker models make our life so much easier on the tour,” adds Merker.

Cindy aus Marzahn’s tour “Nicht jeder Prinz kommt uff’m Pferd!” continues through December 2010 with the last stop at Phillipshalle in Düsseldorf.
