Sound Devices has announced the appointment of Gary Trenda as an RF Applications Engineer, bringing more than 20 years of experience in the live production and event industry to his new role. He previously served as Applications Engineer for Professional Wireless Systems.
“Gary has advised Sound Devices for many years and his experience in RF coordination is extremely impressive. We are excited to welcome him into an official role at the company,” says Sound Devices CEO Matt Anderson.
Trenda began working in live sound shortly after graduating with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, was the first audio RF technician for Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, and has since worked as an audio and RF engineer on a variety of system deployments ranging from installations to special events. His recent events include the Latin Grammy Awards and Super Bowl LV, and he’s also provided frequency coordination services for a range of events that include University of Wisconsin football games to the Salesforce.com Dreamforce conference. He is a current member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers and the Audio Engineering Society.
“I’m very excited to be joining the team at Sound Devices,” Trenda says. “The focus on quality and innovation from this dedicated and knowledgeable group is inspiring. I look forward to helping make the portfolio of Sound Devices products meet the unique needs of our customers.”
Paul Isaacs, Director of Product Management and Design for Sound Devices, adds, “Having Gary Trenda as part of our team is very beneficial for Sound Devices. With his vast practical and technical knowledge gleaned from managing many large scale wireless productions such as the Super Bowl, he will have a significant role in evolving Sound Devices position as a leader in audio wireless tech for the production and broadcast industries.”
