At the ISE 2020 show in Amsterdam, Funktion-One (booth S-192) has unveiled the F5 compact loudspeaker as well as the SB8 compact subwoofer, the two smallest models to date from the company.
The F5 incorporates a Funktion-One high-sensitivity 5-inch cone driver that produces a full range of frequencies from one voice coil with conical dispersion. Other highlights include an integrated high-pass filter for low-frequency protection, angled cabinet design for desktop use, M6 flypoints and a 3/8-inch microphone stand mount.
It measures 9.3 x 7.5 6.4 inches (h x w x d) and weighs 5.9 pounds. An optional yoke for stand or suspension and 70/100-volt line transformer are also available.
The SB8 utilizes a high-sensitivity 8-inch cone driver stated to require no EQ or controller, only crossover filters. Stated frequency response is 50 to 300 Hz (+/-3 dB). It measures 15.4 x 10.8 x 17.3 inches (h x w x ) and weighs 38.8 pounds. A self-powered version will be available soon.
Funktion-One founder Tony Andrews states, “We’re very happy to introduce the F5 and SB8 at ISE 2020. Though they are small in size, they are capable of the high-performance standards that we demand from all of our loudspeaker innovations.”
