Welcome to the new Front of the House Fridays (FotHF) podcast series on the ProSoundWeb Network, presented every Friday by Yamaha Pro Audio and hosted by veteran live and studio engineer Russ Long, who records his conversations with noted audio professionals literally in front of their homes in following current social distancing guidelines.
In Episode 1, Russ visits with engineer Todd Wines, who specializes in front of house mixing and audio systems deployment. Currently the FOH engineer for Miranda Lambert, he’s also toured with top artists such as Lauren Daigle, Hunter Hayes, Vince Gill, Olivia Newton-John, Cyndi Lauper, Sugarland, Gretchen Wilson, Big & Rich, Kellie Pickler, and more. He continues his career as an independent mixer through relationships with prominent audio providers and artist managers.
Talking in front of Todd’s beautiful Nashville-area home, the two discuss how Todd has built his career, life on the road, developing musical relationships with artists, mix approaches and techniques, and more. Through it all, Todd’s passion for combining the art and science of modern sound and recording technology to deliver memorable musical experiences to audiences shines clearly through.
