Mackie announced a free driver upgrade that instantly connects Onyx-i FireWire Production Mixers with Pro Tools M-Powered 8. The offer is available April to May 31, 2010.
Mackie launched the Onyx-i series mixers last fall, with the notable benefit of Pro Tools M-Powered 8 compatibility. (No other third-party company offers this.)
The Mackie Universal Driver Upgrade (which enables Pro Tools M-Powered 8 functionality) is a simple download from the Mackie website (usually costing $49.99).
Purchasers of Onyx-i mixers can go to www.mackie.com, register their new mixer and download the Mackie Universal Driver Upgrade completely free of charge.
This creates added value in conjunction with the Onyx-i mail-in rebate running during the same dates. From April 1 to May 31, 2010 – buy an Onyx 820i and get back $50, an Onyx 1220i gets $75 back, an Onyx 1620i gets back $100, and buy an Onyx 1640i and get $200 back.
If the customer also purchases Pro Tools M-Powered 8 (or any other compatible recording software) at the same time, they get an additional $25. Thus if a customer purchases an Onyx 1640i and Pro Tools M-Powered 8, Waves MultiRack or any other compatible software, they get a rebate of $225, plus the driver is free (a $50 value).
The rebates will be valid for U.S. residents ONLY who purchase any Onyx-i Series Mixers from an authorized U.S. dealer between April 1 and May 31, 2010. For the additional $25.00, they must purchase compatible software at the same time (on the same receipt).
