For more than 40 years, Italy’s Fonoprint Studios has been providing recording and mastering services to local and international artists such as Zucchero, Andrea Bocelli, Laura Pausini, Brian May, Mariah Carey, Eros Ramazzotti and Luciano Pavarotti.
Located in the heart of Bologna and housed within a 15th century monastery, Fonoprint has upgraded its mastering suites to incorporate two SADiE 6 systems, supplied by Mauro Piatti, head of Prism Sound/SADiE’s Italian distributor TEDES.
Senior sound engineer Maurizio Biancani says Fonoprint has been a SADiE user for many years and has always upgraded its systems with every new iteration of this mastering and editing software.
“SADiE is, beyond doubt, my ideal mastering partner and favorite software, thanks to both its editing ease and musicality,” he says. “If you want to enjoy a state of the art digital editor then SADiE is the natural choice because it is a market reference in terms of mastering systems.”
Upgrading to SADiE 6 has allowed Fonoprint to turn projects around with greater speed, and improved accuracy.
“SADiE is one of the fastest and most accurate editing systems on the market and its power, efficiency and effective controls are all perfectly embodied in this latest software release,” Biancani says. “SADiE 6 allows us to swiftly and safely navigate the complex post-production phase. My staff rely on it because it is rapid and reliable, as well as being perfectly blended into our operational pipeline.”
Currently owned by Leopoldo Cavalli, Fonoprint is renowned in Italy for producing numerous hits and for scouting and supporting young talent. The studio’s multimedia approach allows new and established artists to record music and manage their image and visibility through audio and video.
