Focusrite has introduced the new Clarett+ series of USB audio interfaces for PC and Mac — Clarett+ 2Pre, 4Pre and 8Pre — that build on the strengths of the previous ranges but with improved converters and enhanced microphone preamps that are stated to have high headroom as well as low distortion and noise.
All-analogue Air with impedance switching and relay control is designed to bring added clarity and presence that can help enhance vocals by emulating the ISA 110 mic preamp from the classic Focusrite studio console. The new models also provide improved high-dynamic-range A-D and D-A conversion with low distortion. Also improved are the headphone outputs and DAC performance.
Clarett+ interfaces come with a collection of software that includes mixing plugins and virtual instruments.
The Clarett+ is a 2Pre 10-input/4-output bus-powered USB-C interface offering two mic preamps with All-analogue Air joined by impedance switching and relay control. Two JFET instrument inputs are designed to allow users to plug straight in and preserve the natural tone of their guitars.
The Clarett+ is a 4Pre 18-input/8-output interface that includes four preamps with All-analogue Air as well as two improved analogue headphone outputs. and two dedicated JFET instrument inputs.
The Clarett+ 8Pre is an 18-input/20-output interface offering eight preamps with All-analogue Air and two improved analogue headphone outputs.
All three models are expandable with ADAT optical input and output.
