Fluid Audio has announced a new partnership with Sonarworks, with SoundID Reference room calibration software integrated directly into the company’s new Image 2 studio monitors to provide users with the ability to create their own calibration profiles to remove unwanted coloration.

Image 2 monitors, designed for nearfield and midfield use, are equipped with class-D amplification and DSP in addition to a mixcube mode that helps in dialing in low end and mids for a range of “bass challenged” devices. It also assists in adjusting overall balance, depth and vocals as well as enhancing the kick drum. A USB port expands functionality and provides the ability to upload and run exported room correction files natively at the monitor level.

The monitors are loaded with a newly developed AMT tweeter joined by opposed dual 8-inch woofers interlocked at their magnets from within, designed to add cabinet stability with extended bass response (+/- 4.6 dB 28 Hz-20 kHz ; +/- 2.0 dB 80 Hz- 20 kHz). Each bass driver is individually powered by a 225-watt class-D amplifier.

Fluid Audio and Sonarworks are offering an extended 60-day SoundID Reference trial for Image 2 customers. Note that a measurement microphone is required to perform the measurements necessary to create the calibration profile in SoundID Reference.

New Image 2 monitors will be available mid December, 2022, for 1999€ (US: $1899, GBP: £1699). Following the initial 60-day trial for Image 2 customers, SoundID Reference software is available for purchase at www.sonarworks.com/soundid-reference for $249. The bundle including both the SoundID Reference software and calibration microphone is available for $299.
