Experidance Steps Up To Allen & Heath dLive

Hungarian dance group adds S5000 and S7000 control surfaces, with DM32 and DM48 MixRacks for national touring shows.

Hungarian dance group, Experidance, recently purchased two Allen & Heath dLive digital mixing systems to manage audio requirements for their national touring shows.

Experidance’s repertoire includes musicals, live orchestral events and theatre productions, and the team was looking for an ultra-flexible digital mixing system to replace the incumbent front of house and monitor consoles.

After evaluation, they selected two dLive systems, comprising S5000 and S7000 Surfaces, with DM32 and DM48 MixRacks. Experidance’s touring PA also includes an L-Acoustics Line Array system and a wide selection of premium microphones.

In most scenarios, the company is using the system as a traditional front of house and monitor split via ACE for big orchestra shows but the system is also versatile, and can be installed in different locations functioning as two separate front of house mixing systems, using the dLive Director app to mix monitors.

The recent introduction of the Waves3 card and IP remote controllers will further expand Experidance’s system.

“Basically, dLive enables us to cover audio requirements across our spectrum of live shows from a small corporate event, where the sound crew must be ‘invisible’, to a big orchestral production,” comments chief front of house engineer, Bertalan Kupcsik.

“In the very first moment that we used dLive, we could hear the audio quality. The learning curve was also extremely small, and within 4 hours we had 8 of our most popular shows programmed into the system.”
