Electro-Voice Introduces New RE Series Condenser Vocal Microphones At 2019 NAMM Show

Two models available for live sound applications: RE420 (cardioid) and RE520 (supercardioid).

At the 2019 NAMM Show in Anaheim, Electro-Voice has announced the next generation of its RE Series of condenser vocal microphones for live performance: the RE420 (cardioid polar pattern) and RE520 (supercardioid polar pattern).

Each new model is engineered across critical technical categories, including dynamic range, maximum SPL, self-noise and transient response.

The RE420’s cardioid pattern combines acoustic control with a comfortable working range, designed to provide warm low-frequency response, open mids and clear highs.

The RE520’s supercardioid pattern offers higher sonic isolation and additional gain-before-feedback to help maintain a vivid vocal presence. It is designed to supply low-frequency response, natural-sounding mids and detailed highs.

The RE420 and RE520 are the next generations of the RE410 and RE510. The updated design and engineering of the new models evolves the professional performance, look and feel of their predecessors. They join the RE320 in EV’s RE Performance microphone group.

Both new models also include:
• Multi-stage pop filters minimize breath blasts and plosives
• Selectable high-pass filters reduce undesirable low-frequency content when engaged
• Vibration-absorbing internal shock mounts minimize handling noise
• Sleek new form factors with elegantly tapered metal handles and dent-resistant “Memraflex” grilles

The new RE420 and RE520 are available now.
